In our review of the software, we also reviewed the company behind the software.

Babylon Software describes its solutions with the phrase “Translation in a Single Click”. And that’s really the driving force behind what the software and the company does.

It was founded in 1997, with the goal of becoming a top-level provider of translation and dictionary software.

Today, they’ve met that goal and continue to grow their position as one of the major translation software companies in the world.

Babylon uses a database of 1,400 dictionary and language sources in 75 languages. They also draw from their own high-level database of 33 professional dictionaries in 17 languages, which have been cross-referenced and use their in-house linguistic analysis and intelligence experts to show what words mean and how they relate to one another. The languages of this in-house database at Babylon include Arabic, Chinese (Traditional), Chinese (Simplified), Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, and Turkish.

In addition, Babylon Software is serving the translation needs of some of the largest companies in the world, including working with IBM in the US, Daimler Chrysler in Germany, Ernst and Young in Switzerland, Scania in Brazil, and the Hong Kong Monetary authority (among others)

If Babylon can help provide software solutions for companies as diverse and as large as those names, their software should surely work for home users’ computers.

But does the translation software actually work?

In our review, we found that the software not only works, but that it works quite well.

It is desktop software, so it is something you will need to download and install.

One of our favorite features of Babylon software is the sheer number of reviewed pages online that are available in any language. For example, Wikipedia pages are available in 25 languages.

This means that if there is a Wiki written about a topic you want to know about, but it’s written in a different language, Babylon software can help you to decode the language quickly, and more importantly, accurately.

Our overall review is that Babylon Software is good value for money.

One guy wanted to add some French to a book he was writing (some kind of spy novel taking place in Paris). Though this guy only speaks a little French, he was able to add the dialogue he wanted “with just a few clicks” in the whole text he was writing.

This guy says that his favorite feature was that Babylon worked right from inside of MS word, which let him keep writing without having to go to the Internet to find the translations to create his dialogue.

The software will translate both directions across multiple languages and includes the ability to learn how to pronounce words by hearing them spoken. This is helpful for translation of documents and also is really great when attempting to learn a foreign language.

Spoken aloud conjugation of verbs is also helpful for the aural recall process necessary to really drill the words in so that they become natural for the brain to just know.

Quick caveat: Something that kind of bothers me is what I know as the “department of redundancy department”.

This is where someone says something like “3 AM in the morning”. (No offense intended, but the people I hear say this kind of thing most often are from Oklahoma.)

What brings this up today? Well, I’ve been looking for a free trial of Data Rescue 3 for Mac OS X, and someone has posted a review where they keep saying “Data Rescue 3 for Mac OSX 10.” That’s redundant and completely unnecessary. The 10 is covered by the X.

But I digress.

I didn’t ever find a free trial of Data Rescue 3 for Mac OSX. But I did find out that if you buy Data Rescue 3 on Amazon, you will save some money.

The biggest thing that people love about Data Rescue 3 for Mac and PC is not what the program does.

Of course the software will recover your files and rescue you for the temporary hell you are in when you think you have lost your data. It wouldn’t be as popular of a tool as it is, if it didn’t perform well.

However, what people love most about this software, is the support that is offered by the company that makes it – Prosoft. Review after review on Amazon have positively glowing comments about how great the support is, and how “Mike” at Prosoft (Mike in particular) is someone who is very helpful.

Being able to talk to a real person is a great selling point for any software you are buying these days.

It seems we are living in the era of multi-button systems where you get trapped in touch-tone hell (when the reason you’re calling is because you’re already in a nightmare from the data you think you’ve lost).

So that alone makes Prosoft’s Data Recovery 3 a tool worth looking into if you need to recover files which have (mysteriously) gone missing from your Mac.

Or maybe you deleted the data yourself and are now looking to cover your mistake before your wife finds out you’ve (accidentally) deleted all of the wedding photos.

Not that my husband would have any experience with that.

Data Rescue 3 for Mac requires you to have:
PowerPC G4, G5, or Intel
A DVD drive
512MB (or better) RAM
1.0GHz (or better) processor
A Firewire, USB 2.0, eSATA or internal drive where you can recover your data.

There’s not a free trial I can see, but if you want to save money, check out the links below which will take you directly to Amazon’s pages for Prosoft’s Data Rescue 3

Using Dragon Dictate on your Mac gives you the ability to get much more done. All you have to do is speak (dictate), and Dragon Dictate puts your words right onto the screen.

You might have to take the time to train the software so that it will recognize your voice, but once you do, you’ll be able to add (or remove) text from any document just by speaking.

Dragon Dictate lets you do this as much as three times faster than than typing.

Positives from our review:
Dragon Dictate works well. really.well.

• From the first time you install the software, you’ll likely be very pleased with how well Dragon Dictate can tell what you’re trying to say. They report that they have “accuracy rate of up to 99% right out of the box.” I’m not sure that was 100% true for us, but overall, it has a n extremely high level of accuracy which only improves the more you use Dragon Dictate.
• Because you’re not using your fingers to type (and dictation software doesn’t mis-spell words from it’s dictionary), it’s hard to have typos with Dragon Dictate
• Training is standard in Dragon Dictate. This is basically where you help the computer “learn how you speak so that it can even more accurately see what you’re asking it to do and turn your words into meaningful commands or text. You can also add words to your computer’s version on Dragon Dictate.
• Speak commands (open file, print, etc.) can be done in Dragon Dictate without needing other software to make it work. You can control Mac applications, press any keyboard key combination, or just scroll with your mouse, but using your voice instead.
• The Proofreading Feature will also let you hear any selected text out loud. The voice is a bit computerized, but it really is a nice option to be able to hear what’s been dictated spoken back to you.

Potential negatives (and we’re digging for these) from our review about Dictate:
• You should use an external microphone as the internal microphone on your MAC may not be sufficient. Many users will say that their Macs with internal microphones work well, but if you want the best performance from the Dragon Dictate Software, I would get an external microphone.
• Dragon Dictate, when you first download and install the program, requires you to train the program. If you’re not willing to do this, even with their free trial, then you probably will be less pleased with your results. Everyone’s voices are a little different, and you need to tell Dragon Dictate how to recognize yours.
• Other than those things, our review of Dragon Dictate is really positive.

If software like this is available to average people like you and me, I really wonder what else is out there that I don’t know about.

Used correctly, Dragon Dictate software can save you significant amounts of time, effort, and energy.

Our review of OmniPage:

Short Review:
If we were to write a short review of our history with OmniPage and OmniPage Pro, that review would go something like this.

• Really good
• super impressed
• mildly disappointed (by support)
• really disappointed (by features)
• regaining confidence (with newer (more recent versions of MoniPage),
• Loving program (with new version)
• confidence restored (with seemingly new support levels for OmniPage and Scan soft/Nuance Products.

Longer Review:

I hate re-doing results of an OCR Scan.

It feels like such a waste of time to scan a contract or other document into the computer just to find out that I practically have to re-format the entire thing just to make it look and work right.

This is one of the things I’ve appreciated about having OmniPage.

Because it is such an accurate program for scans from OCR/for OCR text recognition, I spend WAY less time trying to get documents to look right after I’ve scanned.

That is worth a lot to me in both time and money. Using the latest version of Windows (Windows 7) and Office, OmniPage Pro works great.

Things I really like about the latest version of Omnipage:

The company listened. People wanted changes and Scansoft/Nuance understood what changes were wanted and made them from the last version of OmniPage to this one. I like it when companies review the feedback they are getting before going in to re-design their program.

It takes a detailed approach, a willingness to listen to consumers, and a view that the customer’s voice really does matter.

And I feel like all of those things are true in this latest version of MoniPage Pro.

Also, I have heard one thing from reading reviews that the larger corporate clients really like about OmniPage. This is that with OmniPage’s latest version, it is possible to archive documents directly into Microsoft SharePoint. It’s a little thing, but I’m sure it saves organizations doing a lot of scanning significant amounts of time.

One of the features I really liked while reviewing OmniPage was that I could edit documents and search through them in multiple formats. That made my life simpler just knowing that the search feature was reviewing documents in all formats (an area where even Microsoft’s search tools still come up short.

I mentioned at the beginning of this review that it seemed such a waste of time to have to re-type scanned images. I also like how having the improved results from scanning with OmniPage actually means that I don’t have to focus so intently to proofread everything all the time.

I’ve even used OmniPage for scanning and converting in German and Spanish on a couple of occasions and got great results there too.

I don’t use most of these formats, and I don’t know how many formats OmniPage will output to, but here’s what they say as far as output formats on their website:

• Amazon® Kindle®
• Microsoft® Word (.doc)
• Microsoft® WordML (.xml)
• Microsoft® Word 2007 (.docx)
• Microsoft® Excel (.xls)
• Microsoft® Excel 2007 (.xlsx)
• Microsoft® PowerPoint 2007 (.pptx)
• Text
• Form data export (.csv)
• Corel® WordPerfect®
• Fillable WordML, InfoPath® and PDF forms
• PDF — image, searchable image, normal and edited
• PDF append — attach content to existing PDF
• PDF with digital signatures
• 128-bit encrypted PDF files
• Tagged PDF files
• XPS — image, searchable image and normal
• HTML
• XML and open eBook
• Audio file output

If you’re looking for a great program which will do a lot of incredible recognition for scanning, OCR, and voice, Omnipage (and Nuance’s other products) are solutions worth close personal review for yourself. I’ve been pleased using OmniPage and it has gotten better over the years as time and technological requirements and abilities have improved.

What is Babylon Software

————————–
Babylon Software
Free Download (Trial) through the link below
http://www.identitytheftsecrets.com/download-babylon-software
————————–

Babylon Software says that they have the number 1 most downloaded dictionary and translation software services available in the world today.

And that may be true.

Some of Babylon’s software packages come with words and translation help from some of the top names in translation and dictionaries.

Just to name a few you have probably heard of: Duden, Larousse, Langenscheidt, Merriam-Webster, Pons, and Taishukan.

What countries is Babylon available in?

Well, because their software is available for a free trial download online, pretty much any country which has open access to the Internet has downloaded Babylon software.

Officially, Babylon software can be found for sale in more than 200 countries/territories around the world. And the software has been installed on over 90 million desktops.

That alone should speak volumes about the quality of the software.

Also worth reviewing are the number of large name companies who use Babylon Software for their companies’ translation and dictionary needs.

Many businesses all over the world must really appreciate what Babylon’s translation and information retrieval products allow them to do within their organizations to both improve communication across international channels and help with overall productivity in the workplace.

Some of the companies using Babylon Software include:

Alcan (Germany)
Banco Central do Brasil (Brazil)
Daimler Chrysler (Germany)
Ernst & Young (Switzerland)
Gillette (Germany)
GlaxoSmithKline (Germany)
Hong Kong Monetary Authority (Hong Kong)
IBM (USA)
Industrias John Deere (Mexico)
John Deere (Brazil)
Liebherr Werk Bischofshofen (Austria)
Nestlé France (France)
Océ (Netherlands)
Sara Lee Branded Apparel (Italy)
Scania (Brazil)
Siemens (Brazil)
Toyota de Mexico (Mexico)
Tremec (Mexico)
Tyco Electronics (Austria)
UBS (Luxembourg)
Xerox (Netherlands)

And that’s just a small number of the companies actually using Babylon.

Reviewing the list, it’s easy to see what proof Babylon has to back up the claim that they are the most preferred translation software in the world today.

We’ll be back later with a review of Babylon Software.

Hopefully though, we’ve offered you an insight into what Babylon Software is, and how it might help you.

Our Review of Manga Studio Ex 4

Overall review: Extremely positive experience.

Manga Studio Ex 4 is a really fantastic program. Having used Manga Studio EX3 (which was really a powerful software itself), Manga Studio Ex 4 really is one whose changes you’ll want to review for yourself. The feature set here can’t be overstated because it’s so feature-rich.

Because of the amazing features, Manga Studio 4.0 saves a huge amount of time. The 3d modelling built in to Manga Studio, which allows you to build in your own tweaks and then trace over the design, is incredible. If you’re just getting started with Manga or comics, you can simply use one of the huge variety of presets. Muscle tone doesn’t exist on the 3d models, and you’ll see that rather than realistic, the anatomy options are anime. But if all you are drawing is Anime, you’ll find Manga Studio to be fantastic. If you’re doing other kinds of comics, just use a 3d model as an aid.

During our review of Manga Studio’s software, we also found that the inking tools worked fantastically to create beautiful and realistic strokes, which auto-correct for shaky hands.

End result? Minimal erasing and more time saved. If you are drawing flowing hair or folded fabric, you’ll find some tools which can save you hundreds (if not thousands) of hours. If you prefer pencil appearance, but want to have the control of a marker or pen, it’s easy by reducing the opacity. Then all you have to do is blur to the outlines, which, when you do it and review the effect yourself, will show up as pencil strokes. Really cool.

Negatives from our review of Manga Studio 4.0

Manga Studio is a fairly involved program. So many features make it quite involved to learn. There are now many great tutorials being built… just do a YouTube search for Manga Studio 4.0 and you’ll see. However, it would be good if Manga Studio came with a bit more tutorial help. (And by saying a bit, I mean that if you come a read this review Manga, please provide some serious documentation and how-to videos.

Digital painting is also kind of difficult. The painting tool seems to work much better for cell shading. Use the unlimited layers, and you can get a good painted effect, and then again turn the opacity of the brush down to 20-20% or less. Painting is easier in other programs.

Overall, our review of Manga Studio is positive, and we think you’ll agree once you review Manga Studio for yourself.

Dragon Dictate has received rave reviews from people around the planet using the software for all kinds of applications.

Built specifically for the Mac, by Mac programmers, this software allows you to effectively take your voice and easily turn it into speech.

My review of Dragon Naturally Speaking

Having used Dragon Naturally Speaking off and on since 2006, I’ve found this program to be really great. I try to review each new version as it comes out to make sure I’m getting the best software possible. I really like that each time I go to review a new version of Dragon Naturally Speaking, it picks up my user files from the previous version, so that I don’t have to re-train the software each time.

Dragon Naturally Speaking is compatible with a host of microphones and headsets. You can see them on Dragon’s site and get an idea of how accurate they’ve been shown to be. Continue reading Dragon Naturally Speaking Review

Dragon Dicatate is the mis-spelling or mis-typing of the words “Dragon Dictate”.

However, since there are some people who mis-type this, we’ll just write this review for the people who type in Dragon Dicatate.

So, if you’re going to use Dragon Dictate, you should know that it’s the same program (more or less) as MacSpeech.

DragonDicatate lets you tell your Mac what you want it to do, or have text in a word processing program, just by speaking into a microphone.

They say that this method of recording voice to text is up to three times faster than typing.

What’s really fun is that you can use most Mac applications just by telling Dragon Dicatate what you want done.

Unlike many programs adapted from PC, Dragon Dicatate is built from the beginning. A review was undertaken of business practices and ideas by programmers specializing in Mac OS X Snow Leopard, and Dragon Dicatate was the result of their work brought to fruition.

Having it built from the beginning by Mac programmers ensures that Dragon Dicatate works right from the beginning, and doesn’t deal with the ridiculous Mac/PC issues.

(So annoying when you just want to accomplish something.)

And what can Dragon Dicatate help you accomplish?

Anything really. Some things people seem to like to use DragonDicatate for, on a somewhat frequent basis, include:
• Reports
• Reviewing Email
• Articles
• Books
• Reviewing/Revising Research notes
• Online content

Anything really.

One other nice thing about Dragon Dicatate (as compared with earlier versions of MacSpeech even or Dragon Naturally Speaking), is that Dragon Dicatate is ACCURATE.

There are hundreds of examples where people show themselves talking and show how well Dragon Dicatate works. As the people from Dragon Dicatate say, it’s “Simply Smarter Speech Recognition for the Mac.”
